Exciting News for Clarksburg High School! We are thrilled to announce that Utrust Foundation has awarded a mini grant to refresh and revitalize our High School Weight Room! This project is a true testament to the dedication of our High School Wellness Class, led by the amazing Ms. Hudgens. These students have worked tirelessly to clean, organize, and repair the weight room, even creating a "wish list" to bring the space back to life. Dr. Lisa Norris, Director of Schools, shared: "The weight room will foster a culture of wellness and support mental and emotional well-being through physical activity. This project aligns perfectly with Clarksburg's Coordinated School Health Program." A huge THANK YOU to the Utrust Foundation for helping us take this vision to the next level! We can’t wait to see our students enjoying this space and promoting fitness, health, and well-being. Stay tuned for updates—we can’t wait to show off the transformation! Lisa

NEWS FROM ROCKET CAFE: On behalf of the cafeteria management team, we are invested in providing our customers new and improved chicken offerings.  As a result of our vendor partnership with Rich Chicks, we will have a chicken taste testing event that everyone (Students & Staff) can participate in and vote for their favorite option that could soon be on our menus! 

Celebrating Excellence in Education The South Carroll Special School District is proud to recognize four outstanding educators for achieving the highest standards in student growth, achievement, and teaching excellence. These remarkable teachers earned a Level 5 annual score across all three areas of measurement, based on a standardized assessment system. Congratulations to: Mrs. April Laws Mrs. LeAnn Edwards Mrs. Lindsey Cobb Not pictured: Mrs. Holly Carden Each teacher received a monetary stipend as part of the annual Rocket Teacher Incentive Program, honoring their exceptional dedication and success in the classroom. Dr. Lisa Norris, Director of Schools, expressed her admiration, saying: "It is with great respect that we honor these teachers who sacrificed to meet academic and personal goals. They are to be congratulated for their tireless work in improving the lives of Clarksburg students." to Mrs. Sabrina Peterson! Clarksburg School is proud to announce that Mrs. Sabrina Peterson, our first-grade teacher, has been selected as Teacher of the Month for November 2024! Dr. Lisa Norris shared, "Mrs. Sabrina is a stellar teacher and a compassionate leader at Clarksburg School." Principal Jenny Miller added, "Mrs. Sabrina comes to school prepared to teach and nurture her students." Mrs. Mary Katherine Stigall, Supervisor of Instruction, praised her consistency, saying, "She is constantly an effective teacher year after year." With nine years of dedicated service to Clarksburg School, Mrs. Sabrina has touched countless lives and helped shape the future of her students. 🚀 Exciting News: Rocket Fruit Kiosk is Now Open! 🍎🍌🍇 We’re thrilled to announce that the Rocket Fruit Kiosk is officially open for our PK-5th grade students! This fruit cart, located in the elementary hallway, was purchased during December with funds from the Farm to School grant. Starting next month, it will be supported by a USDA Fruit and Vegetable grant, ensuring fresh fruit is available throughout the school year. The fruit is for PK-5th grade students to enjoy at school anytime during the day. According to Mrs. Christie Bennett: "The School Nutrition Department is excited to offer fresh fruits and vegetables to elementary students through our Farm to School grant! This initiative is having a profound impact on students' learning abilities, overall health, and connection to local agriculture." Dr. Lisa Norris added: "It was great to see smiles on the elementary students' faces and fruit in their hands. A special thanks to Mrs. Bennett for going the extra mile and applying for USDA funds to support the Clarksburg Coordinated School Health program." We’re grateful for these grants and everyone’s efforts to make healthy snacks accessible for our students. Thank you for supporting their health and well-being!

Clarksburg Teacher Technology Usage Award Winner Announced! We’re thrilled to recognize Mr. Lance Shavchuck as this semester’s recipient of the Technology Usage Award! This award highlights outstanding use of technology to promote differentiated learning and academic growth. Mr. Shavchuck has gone above and beyond by using innovative technology platforms to engage his fourth-grade students, identify individual academic strengths, and set tailored learning goals. Dr. Lisa Norris shared, "The administration, using a data-driven process, wanted to acknowledge Mr. Shavchuck's exceptional efforts. His use of technology has truly inspired growth and engagement in his classroom, ensuring each student reaches their full potential."
